Happy New Year!
I’ve been thinking a lot about the end of the year.
Not 2017-the year that just ended.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the end of this year–2018!
But you may argue, 2018 has only just begun. And you would be correct.
It’s more so that I’ve been thinking about an action that I would like to take every day. And by the end of 2018, this action would just happen daily. Without me having to think about it. Like automagic. Magically, I would not even think about it, but just automatically, I do it. Because it’s now become a habit. A daily habit.
And that thing that I want to do every day?
Write. I want to develop the habit of daily writing.
And as if by magic, while I was pondering what to write about today (aka procrastinating . . . while I read my emails), in my inbox was an email from one of my favorite writers who had just published a blog about this very thing. It’s about how to get inspired and consistently write your blog all year-long. (Read it–it’s a great article!)
As described in the article, I’ve found in the past that the more consistently I do write, the more ideas I have. And the more I want to write.
Making the time to do the writing has been my challenge. It’s not about ‘finding’ the time as some would claim. It’s about staking out that time on the calendar. Making an appointment with myself. And then honoring the commitment.
Henneke, the author of the article cited above, talks about getting in touch with your why to really supercharge your daily commitment to writing. What a synchronicity, since I just listened to Darren Hardy talk about a story in the video below that powerfully illustrates a strong why!
Two great teachers randomly talking about the same thing on the same day in my inbox. Well, THAT gets my attention!
Once you listen to Darren tell the story about the power of a strong ‘why’, think about why you’ve started your wellness business. Once you tap into your why, it will help inspire you and spur you on to write your blog posts consistently. And to compose your emails and newsletters consistently. And to keep doing consistently the sacred, necessary, healing work that you’ve been called to do.
Let’s do this 2018 thing. Let’s start a writing revolution and connect with a record number of people through writing. Starting right now. And do it consistently. Daily. AUTOMAGICALLY!
